美少女戦士セーラームーンの英語名はSailor Moon
英語名は日本語と同じようにSailor Moonです。
Sailorは船乗りのことを指しますが、ここではSailor Uniformセーラー服のことを指します。
Moonは月ですね。キャラクターの名前も月に関わるものになっています。

The first anime I’ve ever watched was Sailor Moon. In English Usagi’s name is Serena. For a western audience, a lot of themes in Sailor moon were too mature or strange for American and Canadian children. Usagi’s daughter, Chibi Usagi was named Rini and American television made the decision to make Rini (Chibi Usagi) Serena’s(Usagi) long lost sister and not her daughter from the future. Another change for American audiences was that Sailor Uranus and Neptune were cousins and not lesbian lovers. My favorite character is Sailor Jupiter, Makoto, or as Americans and Canadians knew her as “Lita” because my favorite colour is green.

当時のアニメの内容は二人とも覚えていなかったので

There’s other media where Japanese television received a lot of changes and was adapted for American Audiences. Another one of my childhood favorites is Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers which is adapted from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. My favorite ranger was the green ranger who in Canada and US was known as Tommy Oliver.
I wasn’t aware of these changes as a child and learned about them when I was a teenager. This was common in the 1990s but as Japanese culture and media started becoming more popular less changes have been made when bringing anime to the west. However, Super Sentai still gets adapted into Power Rangers after almost 30 years.
